Relatives and friends of a now dead young woman, and relatives of her dead husband are at logger heads over what could have led to the man setting his matrimonial home on fire while his sleeping wife and two year old daughter, along with himself was still inside.

The incident which occurred at around 3am this morning at Beterverwagting, East Coast Demerara, has resulted in the death of 26 year old Latoya Telford, her partner Leonard Pollard 34, and their two-year old daughter Nakasi Pollard.

They were all burnt beyond recognition.

While investigators are working on the theory that it is a murder-suicide, the fire service and the police are said to be still gathering enough evidence to come to a primary conclusion.

However, some of Leonard Pollard’s relatives are claiming that he was going through an unemployment crisis, and had to endure evolving episodes of infidelity.

On the other hand, Telford’s relatives are claiming that the woman was initially forced to move on with her life after her common law husband was not inclined to seek out employment and was somewhat abusive towards her.

However, it is believed that even though the woman had moved on with someone else, she subsequently moved back in with pollard.

The woman is said to have mothered two other children from a previous relationship.

Investigations are continuing.
