(Guyana Guardian) – The more than silly conduct of two women has resulted in them being brought before the Vigilance Magistrate’s Court to answer to the charges of assault, abusive language, and damage to property.

The two women, Anna Alexander and Shenilla Clarke are said to be friends who resides not far from each other at Buxton, East Coast Demerara.

The court heard that on Sunday 7th August, 2016, at Lot 48 Middle Walk, Buxton, Shenilla Clarke unlawfully assaulted Anna Alexander, while Alexander allegedly made use of abusive language. Clarke was further charged for the unlawful damage of one bottle of seasoning.

When the charges were read to the women by presiding Magistrate Zamilla Ally-Seepaul, both parties pleaded not guilty.

According to police prosecutor Sherlock king, the two women were drinking rum, when an argument ensued pertaining to Alexander’s breaking a bowl of ice on a post, to fill her glass.

There was a prolong war of words filled with explicit language, followed by intermittent pushing, which led to Clarke allegedly breaking a small bottle of green seasoning.

The police were summoned by observers and both individuals were arrested and subsequently charged for the offences.

However, while both women were released on self bail for the assault and abusive language charges, Clarke was placed on $10,000 bail for damaging the bottle of green seasoning.

Both individuals are expected to return to court on 13th October, 2016 for report.
