A man whose life was lost as a result of injuries received from an assault on the 23 December last at Iguana Creek, Cuyuni, is now considered a John Doe, as no one at the interior mining location was able to identify him, outside of an alias.
As such, the Guyana Police Force is eagerly seeking the assistance of members of the public in their quest to identify him.
According to a police missive, the man who goes by the alias ‘Dougla’, had died at the Bartica Public Hospital. However, no further information was provided as to how he may had received the fatal injuries.
The body has since been brought to Georgetown, and is presently at the Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Crematorium at Le Repentir.
A post mortem examination will be required in order to ascertain the exact cause of death.
