The Guyana Police Force is seeking the whereabouts of two men, who are suspected to have murdered 40-year-old Orlando La Cruz at a mining camp at Jack and Veira Backdam in the North West District.

According to the police, La Cruz who hails from the Pomeroon was imbibing on Thursday at around 1pm, with the two male suspects when one of them demanded that the victim performed oral sex on him.

However, La Cruz refused the man’s demands, and an argument immediately erupted between the two.

Upset at the man’s refusal, one of the suspects who was armed with a weapon, collected a round from his colleague, which he then loaded into the said firearm, and subsequently discharged it in the direction of La Cruz.

As a result, the victim received injuries to his neck, which resulted in his death.

The body is now awaiting a post mortem examination at the Matthews Ridge Hospital Mortuary, while the police are trying to locate the two suspects.
