In a surprise twist of events, 58-year-old Bibi Hussain who was allegedly raped by an intruder that broke into her home on April 6th last, is now saying that the man who had sexually assaulted her on that fateful night has been known to her for a while now.

According to her, the man, whose name she has given as (name withheld), and who sells trinkets to school children in New Amsterdam, would usually throw sexual compliments and other words of interest at her whenever she walks down the street. “But I don’t take him on”, she said.

She added that she often ignores the young man because he was previously held for murder and is considered dangerous by many.

While she could not say why the man chose to sexually assault her, she admitted that it was not the first time that the man had tried to have sex with her against her will. But she never reported any of the previous attempts to the police., since the man did not actually touch her.

Ms. Hussain made this revelation to the Guyana Guardian while she was awaiting a string of blood tests for various Sexually Transmitted Infections along with a head cold at the New Amsterdam Hospital.

She said that since the attack she has not returned to her home because the door is still broken and the intruder promised that he was going to return to finish what he started.

However, the woman could not say why she did not reveal this information when she had spoken to this publication the first time.

At that time, Hussain had said that her attacker was not known to her.

She had told this publication that a male whom she does not know, came to her house on multiple occasions over a two-week period during the nights and requested entry.

When asked who he was, the man addressed himself only as “a youth man.”

Not knowing who “youth man” was, the woman said she refused to open her door on each occasion.

This, she said, drew the ire of the “youth man,” who retorted with threats of returning.

According to her, that was fulfilled at approximately 6:30 in the evening of April 6.

She related that on that fateful evening, the man who she averaged to be about age 25, came under the pretext of wanting to present her with fry chicken and $1000, adding that she should open the door to receive them.

Jus open de door and collect the money nah,” was the man’s entreaty, Hussain told this publication.

Bluntly stating that she can’t open her door, the undeterred man began to violently slam on the door while insisting he be allowed in.

To her surprise, she said the man started to break down her door, which caused her to panic and hid under a bed from where she began to scream.

But her screams did not deter the determined man who subsequently succeeded in gaining entry into her home where he wasn’t welcomed.

Once he was in the house, she claimed that the man dragged her out of her hiding place and braced her against a wall.

He then violently removed her underwear, beat her in the head, and proceeded with the depraved act of raping her.

The woman added that the ordeal lasted over 15-20 minutes, during which time he continued to dealt her a few more blows to her face, which compelled her to cooperate.

The man only stopped after he had ejaculated inside of her.

Once the man had left, Hussain said she went to the Central Police Station in New Amsterdam, but a police there by the name of Pereira laughed and started making a mockery of her.

She said that the policeman told her that she was raped because she like to beg, and further labeled her as a mad woman.

Embarrassed by the ridicule, the woman said she was forced to leave the police station.

While admitting that she would indeed walk and ask for money and food, because of her age and joblessness, she does not think that gives anyone the right to take advantage how her.

The police are said to be investigating the incident.
