This photo report on The Readers' Photos from Guayana Guardian shows a beautiful excursion through Garraf, along the path that leads to the area of the air radar and La Morella.
Exploring the Garraf Massif
This is a walk surrounded by Mediterranean scrubland, with the musical band of birdsong as our soundtrack, continuously accompanied by the genuine palm trees, with hidden dangerous chasms and expansive terrestrial and maritime horizons.
The birds accompany the walkers in Garraf
This route is so close to the city of Barcelona and, at the same time, so far from urban noise. As they say in Costa Rica, “Pura vida!”
Garraf fruits
The Garraf massif is located in the Catalan Coastal Range. It occupies a triangular area between the Llobregat valley, the Penedès depression, and the Mediterranean. It forms a set of low mountains. Orographically, it ranges from sea level up to 593 meters at the summit of La Morella.
Garraf landscape
The Garraf massif loses height towards the west and disappears near El Vendrell, where the coastal depression is bordered by the sea. The mountains are made of limestone with many chasms and caves. And the dwarf fan palm is an endemic species in this area.
