Prince William and Kate Middleton have released their Christmas card on Thursday on social media with a photograph of the couple with their three children in Norfolk. The greeting was published just a few hours after it was announced that the family would not attend the traditional pre-Christmas lunch hosted by the British royal family at Buckingham Palace, as they are already at the Sandringham estate where they spend the holiday season.

The image chosen by the family to wish happy holidays is one of those that appeared in the video posted by the Princess of Wales last September to confirm that she would return to her public duties after completing her chemotherapy treatment. “We wish you a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year,” they have written on the card.

On their part, King Charles III and Camilla revealed their Christmas greeting the first weekend. In the picture, the monarch wore a gray suit, white shirt, and a blue tie that matches his wife's dress. While on other occasions they have chosen to pose in a more casual and close manner, on this occasion the kings used a photo shoot in the gardens of Buckingham Palace taken in the month of April.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex wished their close friends and family happy holidays with a private card that they have not revealed. However, on their social media, they shared a family scene where they chose not to show their children's faces. This image was mixed on the card with others of the Dukes carrying out their philanthropic missions, channeled through the Archewell Foundation since they stepped back from their life in the United Kingdom.

Other European royal families have also already sent their Christmas cards, as is tradition. King Philippe and Queen Mathilde of the Belgians dressed up and gathered their children (three of them currently live abroad) to wish everyone a Merry Christmas. On the other hand, the Prince of Monaco decided to pose in a more casual way this 2024. Last year, the family chose tuxedos, bow ties, and gala dresses to pose next to the Christmas tree at the Palais Princier, but this year they opted for a more informal look to extend their Christmas wishes.
