If waves of rolling mud huts along mountainsides and a taste of ancient history are pieces of adventure pies that you would love to savor, then Ait Ben Haddou in Morocco would be a very good pick.

By most accounts, the ancient town is one of the most beautiful hand-crafted architectural sights on the African continent.

Build almost completely with mud several hundred years ago, the still family-occupied city is so breathtaking that it has been featured in more than a dozen historical movies including the Mummy, the Gladiator, and Alexander among others.

It basically sits in the Valley of the Kasbahs, at the edge of the Atlas Mountains, and offer visitors an almost completely different taste of beautiful Morocco.
