Tal vez no muchos lo recuerden, pero Joan Laporta served as a council member for Barcelona City Council from 2011 to 2015. During council meetings, he sat next to Janet Sanz, and they were often seen sharing discreet laughs, reminiscent of high school students at their desks. They formed a good rapport, and eventually, with Laporta back as president of Barça and Sanz as deputy mayor for Urban Planning, they had to negotiate the permits and licenses for the new Camp Nou. Sanz bid farewell to the City Council yesterday and hosted a small reception in the Saló de Cròniques. Many people were invited. Naturally, there was a speech. She spoke of a new, more relaxed phase in her life and expressed gratitude to everyone. “Ahora tengo ganas de divertirme”, she stated, to which Laporta responded from the crowd: “¡Pues mira el Barça!”.
