Pandemonium broke out at the B Field Junction at Sophia around 9am this morning, after two gunmen approached a woman that was standing at the roadside, and without any warning, turn a gun towards her and open fire.

Eyewitnesses claimed that the woman had gone to a nearby school to find out if she could have taken her children amid the teachers strike, and was just returning home when the gunmen walked up and shot her.

The victim who has been identified as 39-year-old Stacey Robinson and who resides at 315 ‘B’ Field Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was rushed to the Georgetown Hospital where she was admitted.

Police have since said that they are searching for the men, and have also launched an investigation to determine what could have led to the shooting.
