A school foundation administrator and a teacher were today hauled before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Providence Magistrate’s Court, after being charged with using abusive language against each other.

The court heard that on Wednesday 23 November 2016 at Diamond on the East Bank of Demerara, 25 yr old teaching assistant Devika Gobin of Lot 1533 Great Diamond E.B.D made use of abusive language to Ms. Naseya Persaud, a 35yr old Administrator of Diamond Housing Scheme, also on the East Bank of Demerara.

Ms. Persaud was similarly charged with making use of abusive language to Ms. Gobin.

When given a chance to speak, both women who worked at the Electra Foundation at lot 763 section B Block Diamond E.B.D made some crucial allegations each other much to the amusement of the court.

According to Ms. Gobin she had worked with Ms. Persaud for more than five years and was never paid a single cent for her teaching labour at the foundation.

She added that Ms. Persaud has been defrauding monies from the foundation under false pretense, but did not explain why she had made such a claim.

On the other hand, Ms. Persaud claimed that Ms. Gobin was caught stealing the foundation’s money, and was subsequently dismissed. She further claimed that after being fired Ms. Gobin have been trying to blackmail her.

However, after listening to both women, presiding Magistrate Azore placed them on $5,000 bail each on the abusive language charge, while Ms. Persaud was placed on an additional $10,000 bail since she had faced another charge for allegedly assaulting Ms. Gobin.

They are both set to return to court on the 2 February 2017.
