The Danish royal family, King Frederik and Queen Mary, have chosen Madrid for a pre-Christmas getaway. The couple has traveled with their children to the capital, which at this time of year is adorned for the holidays and offers numerous possibilities for culture, leisure, and relaxation. The Danish royal family has set aside their official agenda to unwind for a weekend in our country. The kings have gathered their children for this getaway: Isabella (17 years old), twins Vincent and Josephine (13), as well as Crown Prince Christian (19) after returning from his African adventure.
As reported by Look, the royal family, accompanied by their security team, has stayed at this private tourism plan at the luxurious Santo Mauro hotel, located at number 36 Zurbano street. The establishment is situated in the area known as the Golden Triangle, near Paseo de la Castellana. The presence of the kings and their children has not gone unnoticed, and numerous citizens have been able to see them strolling through one of the most traditional and popular districts of the capital, Chamberí.

The Danish royals have been seen strolling down Marqués del Riscal street, which is home to numerous luxury shops. Some onlookers have noted that during the walk, Queen Mary of Denmark was very affectionate with one of her daughters and was walking arm in arm with her.
King Frederick has returned to Madrid, this time accompanied by his entire family; quite different from the last time he visited the capital. It was just over a year ago, in November 2023, when Frederick X was photographed with Genoveva Casanova in the city center during a private trip of the now head of the Nordic State, which caused a great stir and prompted the ex-wife of Cayetano Martinez de Irujo to issue a statement.

On the other hand, the Nordic Royal Family announced two weeks ago their Christmas plans. It is the first time that Frederick and Mary will experience these holidays as king and queen. Their main setting will once again be the palace of Aarhus, the second largest city in Denmark and one of the oldest located in Jutland. Since Frederick was a child, this residence has almost always been the venue for their celebrations. This year they will be there from the 23rd to the 26th of December, making it their official residence. Afterwards, they will enjoy the last days of the year at Marselisborg Palace, alongside Queen Margrethe.
