Cerdanya will once again host its unique summer festival, the Occident Summerfest, which has announced a good part of its lineup this Thursday while the Pyrenean region is awaiting the first snowfalls. The Tyets, Nil Moliner, and Los Secretos are featured in the fourth edition of the event, which hopes to replicate the success of last summer, when it brought together over 20,000 people in the meadows adjacent to Puigcerdà.

The blend of youth and experience characterizes the first six confirmed performances for the Summerfest (this year, eight concerts were held) with the prominent presence of two iconic bands from the urban Catalan music scene.

On one hand, The Tyets (August 19), who recently demonstrated their drawing power by bringing together 10,000 people over two nights at the Sant Jordi Club. After making a name for themselves with the album Èpic Solete and the sardanistic Coti x coti, Oriol Ramon and Xavier Coca from Martorell will be presenting a new album in April 2025. The duo Figa Flawas (August 27) does not have new material yet, despite their breakthrough this year with the genre-blending La calçotada, the second album by Pep Velasco and Xavier Cartanyà, featuring hits like Mussegu and Diabla, to which they added La Marina sta morena this summer.

Joining these two bands is Nil Moliner from Sant Feliu (August 21), who this year has managed to fill the Palau Sant Jordi during the tour presenting his third album, Lugar paraíso, an energetic pop that has taken the author of Libertad on tour in Latin America with songs like Meneíto or Dos primaveras.

Veteranía will come hand in hand with Los Secretos (August 26th) and Sopa de Cabra (August 27th). Álvaro Urquijo's band will review the long career of the Madrid-based group, which managed to overcome the death of Enrique and continued to produce new music, the latest of which appeared in 2019 under the title Mi paraíso. More recent is the latest work of Sopa de Cabra, who in November released Ànima, where the band from Empordà explores a new concept of sharing the creation and recording of each song on the album with a different artist. This has given rise to varied sonorities in line with various influences, from Sidonie to Triquell, Pol Batlle, or Santi Balmes.

The Mecano tribute band Hija de la Luna (August 28) completes the lineup for Summerfest, which, as in previous years, will feature a Village with a variety of activities and a selection of food trucks.
