After spending some time in Australia, 24-year-old Paula García was clear that she wanted to stay in the Oceanic country. She had no choice but to work in one of the specific sectors required by the Australian government in order to stay for another year. “Some friends told me about the mines, that I had another friend from the Canary Islands working there, and I took a chance and said 'my name is Paula, I'll get it.' It was tough, but I made it,” she explained on the program “Let's see”.
The woman from the Canary Islands, who thanks to her stay there gained thousands of followers on social media, did everything possible for them to let her live that experience, which, on the other hand, has brought her great economic benefits: “It's very tough, but you earn a lot and everyone wants to work in it, especially Spaniards.”

To qualify for mining jobs, she had to complete several online and in-person courses, which she described as “quite easy.” A simple step that leads to the hardest part of all: “Getting an interview and being given the opportunity to prove you can do it.”
After much effort, he finally got his coveted position. But the nerves were such that he doesn't remember very well how his first day in the mines went. Even so, he is clear that he experienced it with uncertainty and a certain fear when he saw that no one spoke Spanish.

Even so, it didn't take long for her to become friends with several Australian miners, whom she holds dear for how well they treated her. “The miners accompanied me, welcomed me, speak really well with you, and are constantly supporting you,” she revealed on the mentioned show.
“What I have experienced, my experience has been really good. You see them huge, with beards, typical Australian country folks, and they are sweethearts. Nothing has ever happened to me, and they have always been really good to me. A very good experience,” she continued, also admitting that she is considering returning at some point.

And it's not just that he had a great time with his colleagues, but it has also helped him build up a significant financial cushion. As he has stated, in his best month, he has earned over 8,000 Australian dollars. This substantial amount is due to the fact that in Australia, double pay is received on holidays.
It was in the middle of this adventure when she decided to share everything through social media, where shortly after, she became a full-fledged influencer. “I studied Marketing and I love content creation. And since I was bored, I started sharing my experience and I'm sure I encourage many people to get into mining, especially women. In the end, with the videos and live streams, I started gaining followers,” she stated.
